Airbus Secures $3.5 Billion Order from Saudi Arabia at Paris Airshow
Airbus has finalized a $3.5 billion contract with AviLease for 30 A320neo jets and 10 A350 freighters. This marks AviLease's inaugural direct deal with Airbus and aligns with Saudi Arabia's strategy to enhance its aviation sector amidst geopolitical tensions at the Paris Airshow.

Airbus secured a $3.5 billion order from Saudi Arabian leasing firm AviLease for 30 A320neo jets and 10 A350 freighters. This order highlights Saudi Arabia's intent to elevate its aviation industry, particularly through initiatives like Riyadh Air and a significant new airport development.
The Paris Airshow has seen reduced activity due to geopolitical issues, including France's closure of Israeli stands, and the cancellation of Boeing's participation following an Air India crash. Despite these challenges, there is increasing interest in Airbus's defense offerings as military spending rises in Europe. Additionally, Polish airline LOT may soon announce an order for 40 A220 aircraft, indicating competitive dynamics in the market.
