Akwa Ibom Council Approves Infrastructure and Humanitarian Projects
The Akwa Ibom State Executive Council has approved several strategic projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, energy, and social welfare. This initiative aligns with the administration's ARISE Agenda, focusing on improving the living standards of residents across the state.

The Akwa Ibom State Executive Council has ratified initiatives in infrastructure, transportation, energy, and social welfare during a meeting led by Governor Umo Eno. Key approvals include the delivery of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, construction of a passenger terminal at the CNG Mega Station, and recapitalization of Anchor Insurance Limited.
The Council also directed the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State Electricity Regulatory Commission with an 18-month target for reliable power supply. The Ibom Medical City Project is set for official unveiling on June 23, 2026, featuring a 350-bed International Hospital.
A fourth phase of free food distribution will begin before the end of June across 31 Local Government Areas. Twelve Executive Bills have been transmitted to the State House of Assembly for consideration, reflecting the administration's legislative agenda.
