Akwa Ibom Governor Eno Optimistic About Ibom Deep Sea Port Development
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has reaffirmed commitment to the Ibom Deep Sea Port project, a 20-year initiative aimed at economic growth. The project is designed to enhance Nigeria's port capacity and facilitate industrialization through a Public-Private Partnership model.

Governor Umo Eno emphasized his administration's commitment to realizing the Ibom Deep Sea Port project, which has been in planning since 2016. The project is expected to drive economic growth, improve business operations, and become a major transshipment hub integrated with the Ibom Industrial City.
Key milestones achieved include the completion of feasibility studies, financial modeling, and a transparent bidding process identifying preferred bidders. The technical roadmap prioritizes infrastructure development, such as container terminals and Navy berths.
Eno urged for public patience, noting that similar global projects can take up to 20 years from conception to commissioning. Collaborative efforts with federal entities and private investors are critical for success.
