Akwa Ibom State Purchases 50 CNG Buses to Enhance Urban Transport
Akwa Ibom State Government announced the purchase of 50 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to improve urban transportation. The buses, fully paid for through the Central Bank of Nigeria, are set to arrive in April.
Governor Umo Eno stated the initiative aims to enhance the state's mass transit system and connect all 31 Local Government Areas to the capital. The project will include gas stations, training schools for technicians, and create approximately 500 jobs.
Additional infrastructure developments include a marine terminal in Oron and new marine boats. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision for sustainability and reduced transportation costs.
