Alabama Port Authority Appoints New COO and Chief Engineer Ahead of 2026 Capital Investment Program
The Alabama Port Authority has appointed Alex King as Chief Operating Officer and Jason Krick as Chief Professional Engineer, effective March 1 and February 1, 2026, respectively. These leadership changes aim to enhance operational and engineering capabilities in response to increasing cargo volumes and a significant capital investment program. King succeeds Rick Clark, while Krick will manage engineering and technical delivery for major projects as part of a strategic plan for future growth.

The Alabama Port Authority has announced the appointments of Alex King as Chief Operating Officer and Jason Krick as Chief Professional Engineer, effective March 1 and February 1, 2026, respectively. These appointments are aimed at strengthening the Port's operational and engineering leadership in light of increasing cargo volumes and a substantial capital investment program.
King succeeds Rick Clark, who is leaving for new opportunities. Krick, currently with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Mobile District, will oversee engineering and technical delivery for major capital projects. The leadership changes are part of a strategic plan to enhance operational execution and infrastructure reliability as the Port prepares for future growth.
