The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has designed upgrades for Viewpoint Park, including boat ramp relocation and bulkhead repairs, with an estimated cost of $1.7 million. Baldwin County will invest $500,000 in Mullet Point Park for a new pavilion and improved pedestrian access. Both projects await U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits before beginning.

Two waterfront parks on Alabama's eastern shore, Viewpoint Park and Mullet Point Park, are set for improvements funded by the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA). The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has completed the engineering design for Viewpoint Park, which will see the relocation of two boat ramps, bulkhead repairs, new parking lot striping, and a small pavilion at an estimated cost of nearly $1.7 million.
Baldwin County will allocate $500,000 for Mullet Point Park to replace an old pavilion and enhance pedestrian access. Both projects require U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits before construction can start.
