The States of Alderney has indicated that offshore energy resources could yield annual revenues of £5m to £20m. To support this initiative, it has expanded the Marine and Energy Working Group's mandate to facilitate renewable energy development.

Plans include utilizing offshore wind and tidal energy for local consumption and export. A budget for 2026 is set to advance efforts, including the development of a Marine Spatial Plan and identifying viable electricity export routes.

Additionally, updates to renewable energy legislation and the Alderney Electricity Law are underway. Infrastructure investment is deemed essential for successful resource development.
