Alexandria Launches Aerospace and Defense Startup Accelerator
A new accelerator program in Alexandria, Virginia, will support up to 15 local startups in aerospace and defense sectors. Administered by FedTech, applications will open soon, with the program commencing in summer 2026.
FedTech will manage an accelerator program aimed at fostering 15 startups based in Alexandria, Virginia, focusing on aerospace, quantum, and cyber sectors. The initiative, emerging from the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, will launch applications in the coming weeks and is set to begin in summer 2026.
Eligible companies must be headquartered in Alexandria, which has a population of approximately 160,000 and is home to over 34,000 businesses. This program is part of the National IQ innovation district in Northern Virginia, designed to enhance tech development. The growing investment in defense and national security technology in the region could spur further entrepreneurial activity and attract more firms to the area.
