Algeria Launches Alsat 3A Satellite to Enhance Digital and Geospatial Sovereignty
Algeria has successfully launched the Alsat 3A Earth observation satellite from Jiuquan, China, aimed at enhancing the country's digital and geospatial sovereignty. This high-resolution satellite, supervised by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, will aid in resource management and disaster risk assessment while also supporting military and emergency responses. The launch underscores the collaboration between Algeria and China and reinforces Algeria's position among the top five African nations in satellite capabilities.

Algeria successfully launched the Alsat 3A Earth observation satellite, enhancing its spatial and digital sovereignty. The satellite, launched from Jiuquan, China, will provide high-resolution images for resource management and disaster risk assessment.
Supervised by Army General Saïd Chanegriha, the operation involved the Algerian Space Agency and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. Alsat 3A is intended for civil use but can also assist military and emergency responses.
Algeria ranks among the top five African countries in satellite capabilities, with six operational satellites. The launch exemplifies successful Algeria-China cooperation and aligns with Algeria's strategy for digital sovereignty, focusing on managing critical infrastructures and ensuring immediate access to strategic information.
