Allison Transmission Enhances European AFVs with Advanced Technology at Eurosatory 2026
Allison Transmission is introducing the 4040MX cross-drive transmission for the CV90 Mk IV, addressing the need for increased vehicle performance amid rising weight demands. This development aims to improve the durability and maintainability of Europe’s defense fleets, ensuring mission readiness in challenging environments.

Allison Transmission's 4040MX cross-drive transmission has been integrated into the BAE Systems CV90 Mk IV infantry fighting vehicle, now in production for various clients. This model replaces earlier CV90s equipped with the X300 series transmission.
The 4040MX, an evolution of the 3040MX, features increased torque ratings and integrates propulsion, steering, and braking into one system. The Allison 4000 series transmissions, including the 4800SP used in the ARTEC Boxer and the 2500SP in the Supacat Jackal 3, demonstrate versatility in both military and civilian applications.
With production facilities in Hungary and India, Allison is positioned to support European defense needs effectively. The trend towards heavier vehicles necessitates robust transmission solutions, impacting future military vehicle design and operational efficiency.
