Almaguin Data Proposes 2MW AI Data Center in Northern Ontario, Canada
Almaguin Data plans to develop a 2MW AI data center in Ontario's Hwy. 520 Industrial Park, with a potential expansion to 10MW. Initial investment is estimated at CA$5-7 million, targeting completion by Q2 2027. The project could take three to five years with a total investment of CA$15-20 million. Hydro One has confirmed available capacity, but township officials are reviewing noise and other impacts.

Almaguin Data proposes a 2MW AI data center in northern Ontario, located on a 6.8-acre site in the Hwy. 520 Industrial Park. The project aims to begin work in Q4 2026, with the first phase costing CA$5-7 million (US$3.6-5 million) and completion expected by Q2 2027.
There are plans to expand the facility to 10MW with a total investment of CA$15-20 million (US$11-14.6 million) over three to five years. The site will utilize natural gas for backup power and has confirmed capacity from Hydro One. Township officials are currently assessing noise and other impacts before approval.
