On March 30, 2024, AM Development Guinea SA conducted a site identification visit for bauxite in Mamou after receiving its approval. The mission aimed to assess the sites and their proximity to the port of Benty.
The project includes constructing a 326-kilometer railway from Mamou to Benty, a mineral port, a bauxite refinery, and a hydroelectric micro-dam. AM Development plans to invest $50 billion in various projects, promising tens of thousands of jobs for Guineans. The company seeks collaboration with the government for urban development projects in Conakry and surrounding areas to facilitate youth employability and economic growth.
