Amazon Cuts 100 Jobs in Robotics Division Amid AI-Driven Restructuring

ROBOTICS

Amazon has confirmed the elimination of at least 100 white-collar roles in its robotics division, part of a wider corporate restructuring linked to efficiency and AI integration. This division is crucial for developing robotic technologies used in Amazon's fulfillment centers.

The current layoffs follow earlier job cuts of around 16,000 in January and approximately 14,000 in October. Additionally, Amazon has ceased development of its Blue Jay robotic arm project, designed to enhance operations in warehouse environments. The restructuring reflects the growing impact of AI on corporate labor models in the technology sector.
