Amazon has expanded its presence in Louisiana, now operating 13 locations and employing over 10,000 workers since opening its first fulfillment center in late 2021. Key facilities include a 3.4 million-square-foot center in Baton Rouge and a 2.5 million-square-foot flagship center in Shreveport, which integrates AI and robotics.
Amazon's logistics operations in the region surpass those of UPS and FedEx, with projections to exceed the U.S. Postal Service by 2028. The company's expansion has also stimulated local economies, spawning nearly 200 new businesses and generating significant tax revenue.
