Amazon Lays Off Employees in Robotics Division Amid Cost-Cutting Efforts
ROBOTICS
Amazon has reportedly laid off a small number of employees from its robotics division as part of cost-cutting efforts. VP Scott Dresser emphasized that robotics remains a strategic priority for the company despite the restructuring.
This layoff follows a broader initiative to cut 30,000 corporate jobs, with significant reductions in January and October 2025. Amazon continues hiring in strategic areas and aims to enhance operational efficiency.
The company also recently reduced its 'Blue Jay' warehouse robot project. Since 2022, Amazon has cut around 57,000 roles, reflecting a shift after rapid hiring during the COVID-19 pandemic.
