Ambar Energia Completes $263 Million Acquisition of EDF's Thermal Power Assets in Brazil
Ambar Energia has acquired EDF's Norte Fluminense thermal power plant and the Norte Fluminense 2 project for approximately $263 million. This acquisition increases Ambar's installed capacity to over 7 GW and expands its portfolio to 56 power generation units across 12 Brazilian states, covering various energy sources. The move aims to strengthen Ambar's presence in Southeast Brazil, a key region for energy consumption.

Ambar Energia has finalized the acquisition of EDF's Norte Fluminense thermal power plant and the Norte Fluminense 2 project for about 1.4 billion reais ($263 million). This acquisition boosts Ambar's installed capacity to over 7 gigawatts (GW) and expands its portfolio to 56 generation units across 12 states, including various energy sources such as hydroelectric, solar, and natural gas. The purchase enhances Ambar's strategic position in Southeast Brazil, which houses the nation's largest energy-consuming centers.
