Ameren Missouri to Upgrade 3.6 Miles of Natural Gas Infrastructure in Columbia
Ameren Missouri will upgrade 3.6 miles of aging natural gas infrastructure in the East Campus area of Columbia. The upgrades, which will involve modern materials like polyethylene, aim to enhance service reliability and meet future demands.
The project consists of three phases: Phase 1 has begun between Rockhill Road and Cliff Drive, with Phase 2 scheduled for summer between College Avenue and Williams Street, and Phase 3 set for fall from Williams Street to Rockhill Road. Ameren is collaborating with the Missouri Department of Transportation, the City of Columbia, and the University of Missouri for traffic control during construction. Residents have been notified of potential short disruptions to their natural gas service during the upgrades.
