America Makes Invests $14M in Additive Manufacturing Initiatives by 2025
America Makes, based in Youngstown, Ohio, plans to invest nearly $14 million from March to August 2025 in key projects to advance additive manufacturing (AM) standards and qualifications. The organization aims to enhance member engagement through events and workshops, including its Technical Review and Exchange and Members Meeting and Exchange, with over 750 participants.
Partnerships with Metal Powder Technology and PIM International are intended to attract new members and foster industry collaboration. On September 23, America Makes and ANSI released the 2025 Gaps Progress Report, addressing gaps in the Standardization Roadmap for AM.
Additionally, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the Youngstown Innovation Hub for Aerospace & Defense, supported by $26 million to drive economic growth. America Makes also launched AMTrain Phase 2 to offer role-specific AM training, targeting exposure of AM to one million Americans by 2027.
