Andhra Pradesh Approves India's First Autonomous Maritime Shipyard by Sagar Defence Engineering in Nellore

Andhra Pradesh has approved a project by Sagar Defence Engineering to establish India's first dedicated autonomous maritime shipyard in Nellore. Located at Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour, the facility will focus on unmanned maritime platforms and is expected to create approximately 750 jobs.

The project aims to enhance the state's position in maritime innovation and technology. Operations are set to commence in late 2026, reflecting the government's commitment to high-tech investments in defense and technology.
