Andritz Secures 1,000-MW Pumped Storage Project from Tata Power in India
Andritz AG has been awarded a contract by Tata Power for the 1,000-MW pumped storage project at Bhivpuri, Maharashtra. The contract, valued in the lower three-digit million euro range, includes the supply of reversible pump turbines and associated equipment. The project will enhance renewable energy integration and grid stability in the region. This marks Tata Power's first major pumped storage contract with Andritz, contributing to the development of a stable, low-carbon energy infrastructure in India.

Andritz AG has received a significant contract from Tata Power for the planned 1,000-MW pumped storage power plant at Bhivpuri in Maharashtra, India. The contract is valued in the lower three-digit million euro range and will be included in Andritz's order intake for Q1 2026.
The scope includes design, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of the complete turbine sets, utilizing Andritz's manufacturing capacities in India. The Bhivpuri project is crucial for enhancing renewable energy integration and grid stability, addressing the growing share of solar and wind energy. Andritz is also involved in the realization of seven other pumped storage projects in India, totaling over 11 GW of installed capacity.
