Anduril and HD Hyundai Launch Autonomous Surface Vessel Production
Anduril Industries and HD Hyundai have commenced production of a new class of autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). The first vessel is projected to undergo testing by the end of this year, marking a significant milestone in maritime defense technology.

Anduril Industries and HD Hyundai have officially entered production of their first autonomous surface vessel (ASV) following a successful critical design review. The vessel is expected to be ready for testing by the end of the year, with daily at-sea testing currently ongoing to gather data for performance refinement.
The initial ASV is scheduled to launch in October, and Anduril anticipates ownership for evaluations off the U.S. coast by late 2026. Additionally, Anduril is partnering with Edison Chouest Offshore for ASV manufacturing at U.S. shipyards. The financial details of the project remain undisclosed, but this collaboration could significantly enhance capabilities in the defense sector.
