Angola MPs Advocate for Enhanced Energy and Water Investments
Lunda-Norte MPs highlight the need for greater investment in energy and water distribution networks to improve access for residents. Ongoing projects, including solar power plants, aim to bolster local electricity supply by year-end.

Members of the Lunda-Norte provincial legislature are pushing for increased investments in electricity and water distribution to enhance service accessibility. A fact-finding mission revealed that while energy production has grown, the distribution network remains underfunded.
The local deputy-governor confirmed that three solar power plants are set to be operational by year-end as part of a rural electrification initiative benefiting 60 localities. Currently, Lunda-Norte has 76.19 megawatts of electricity, sourced from various facilities, and seven water supply systems delivering around 21,000 cubic metres of water daily. Continued investments are crucial for sustainable development in these sectors.
