Ann Arbor Approves 35-Home Development at The Enclave of Ann Arbor, Subject to Site Plan Review
The Ann Arbor City Council has unanimously approved a 35-home development, The Enclave of Ann Arbor, on an eight-acre site at 2857 Packard Road, pending site plan review. The project, led by Robertson Brothers Homes, will feature single-story condos and includes provisions for no natural gas connections except for emergencies, alongside a $22,000 contribution for park improvements. While the development will result in the removal of 74 out of 86 landmark trees, it is less intensive than a previously rejected plan for 51 homes.

Ann Arbor City Council unanimously approved a deal for a 35-home development, The Enclave of Ann Arbor, on an eight-acre site at 2857 Packard Road. The approval is contingent upon site plan review by City Planning Manager Brett Lenart, who emphasized the need to protect landmark trees.
The project by Robertson Brothers Homes plans for 35 detached, single-story condos, each approximately 1,830 square feet. The agreement stipulates no natural gas connections except for emergency backup and a $22,000 contribution for city park improvements.
The site survey indicated 86 landmark trees, with 74 to be removed, while 10 will remain. The development is less intensive than a previously rejected 51-home plan that would have cut down most landmark trees. Council has settled prior legal disputes regarding development on this site.
