Anschütz Introduces SYNAPSIS WECDIS NX with Advanced Gyrocompass Technology
DEFENSE
Anschütz has launched SYNAPSIS WECDIS NX, a naval navigation system with advanced GNSS interference handling. This system builds on the legacy of Hermann Anschütz-Kaempfe's gyrocompass, first tested by the German Navy in 1904 and commercially available in 1908.
The gyrocompass has proven essential, especially with increasing GNSS disruptions in the Baltic Sea, where vessels frequently experience signal losses. Today's gyrocompasses feature robust mechanical designs, intelligent filtering, and dual configurations to enhance reliability and safety in navigation.
