Antarctica21 Renews Partnership with HIF Global for E-Gasoline in Antarctic Tourism Operations
Antarctica21 has renewed its partnership with HIF Global to utilize locally produced e-gasoline for its Zodiac landing operations, making it the first Antarctic tourism company to employ e-fuel for excursions. The initiative aims to lower emissions and reduce the carbon footprint of operations, while the company also explores synthetic marine diesel and aviation fuel for its broader operations. This collaboration highlights a commitment to sustainability and innovation in polar tourism.

Antarctica21 has renewed its strategic alliance with HIF Global to utilize locally produced e-gasoline for Zodiac landing operations, promoting lower-emission exploration in Antarctica. The fleet of 10 Zodiac boats will continue to use synthetic gasoline produced at HIF's Haru Oni plant in Punta Arenas, making Antarctica21 the first Antarctic tourism company to operate excursion boats powered by e-fuel.
This initiative aims to reduce the carbon footprint of operations without engine modifications. Additionally, Antarctica21 is assessing the use of synthetic marine diesel and aviation fuel for its ship and flight operations. The collaboration emphasizes sustainability and innovation in the polar tourism sector, showcasing the potential of e-fuels in decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries.
