Appetronix Acquires Cibotica to Expand Automated Kitchen Offerings
Appetronix has acquired Cibotica to enhance its automated kitchen capabilities, diversifying offerings beyond pizza. This acquisition is expected to fast-track the integration of Cibotica's technology into new cuisine formats, increasing operational efficiency in the food robotics market.

Appetronix has completed the acquisition of Cibotica, enhancing its automated kitchen technology and enabling expansion into various cuisines, including Asian noodles and Mexican burrito bowls. The first joint robot kitchen is set to launch later this year.
Founded in 2020, Appetronix operates robotic kitchens, with previous deployments in partnership with Donatos at Columbus International Airport. Cibotica's technology automates salad bowl assembly and can produce up to 300 bowls per hour, potentially reducing labor costs and food waste.
This deal allows Appetronix to leverage Cibotica’s dispensing platform for further kitchen innovations. The global food robotics market is projected to double by 2034, driven by labor shortages and efficiency demands, although successful exits remain rare in the sector.
