Aqaba Container Port Company Reports Increased Handling Volumes in H1 2026
Aqaba Container Port Company achieved a handling volume of 472,680 TEUs in H1 2026, a 1% increase from the previous year. Transit goods surged by 177%, indicating significant growth in regional trade activities.

In the first half of 2026, the Aqaba Container Port Company reported handling 472,680 TEUs, a slight increase from 468,062 TEUs in H1 2025. Transit goods surged to 36,412 TEUs, reflecting a 177% increase compared to 13,143 TEUs in the same period of the previous year.
Truck movements through the port reached 188,927, up from 182,490 in H1 2025. The company also managed to handle eight ships exceeding 5,000 TEUs, including one with a record 10,884 TEUs. The port received the Kota Odyssey, a new LNG dual-fuel container vessel, enhancing its capabilities as a regional hub for transshipment. This operational growth may attract further investment and strengthen Aqaba's position in the regional logistics network.
