The Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) has completed a shoreline stabilization project at Little Bay, addressing severe erosion threatening local infrastructure. Funded by a donation from San Jose Cattle Co., the project involved the installation of approximately 1,000 feet of 12x12-inch concrete pilings in two 500-foot sections.
Erosion at Little Bay has caused significant shoreline loss, with over 25 feet receded in the last 20 years. ACND received necessary approvals from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Texas General Land Office by late 2025.
Construction started on February 17, 2026, and concluded on February 26, 2026, ahead of schedule. The project is part of broader development plans for the area, including a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.
