ARES Shipyard Files Patent for 40 ft Container-Rated Catamaran USV Design
ARES Shipyard has filed a design for a 40 ft container-rated unmanned surface vessel (USV) in Turkey, expanding its fleet capabilities. This new design allows for logistics support and modular mission payloads, enhancing operational versatility for maritime tasks.

ARES Shipyard's recent patent filing for a 40 ft catamaran USV indicates a significant expansion from its previous vessel designs. The vessel's dimensions of 22.5 metres allow it to carry a standard shipping container, enhancing logistics capabilities.
This design can accommodate larger unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and more advanced electronic warfare systems. ARES has experience with catamaran platforms, notably the ARES 17 CF, and has previously developed the Tufan kamikaze vessel for the Turkish Navy.
The USV fleet will support autonomous swarm-strike operations against maritime targets. The catamaran design is currently in patent status, with potential implications for future naval capabilities in Turkey and beyond.
