Argent LNG Seeks DOE Authorization to Export 25 MTPA of LNG from Port Fourchon, Louisiana
Argent LNG, LLC has submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Energy for long-term authorization to export 25 MTPA of LNG to FTA and non-FTA countries. The application requests export of up to 1,293.75 Bcf/yr of natural gas from a proposed terminal at Port Fourchon. Argent LNG aims for a 20-year authorization, emphasizing the project’s role in expanding U.S. LNG capacity and enhancing global energy security.

Argent LNG, LLC has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy for authorization to export up to 25 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG), equivalent to 1,293.75 billion cubic feet per year (Bcf/yr), to Free Trade Agreement and non-FTA countries.
The LNG would be sourced from a proposed terminal at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Argent LNG is requesting a 20-year export authorization from the start of commercial operations, with an additional three-year makeup period for contracted volumes.
The project aims to bolster U.S. LNG export capacity and meet global demand for reliable energy supplies.
