Argentina Increases Solar Capacity by 810 MW in 2025
Argentina's solar capacity reached 2,483 MW in 2025, boosted by 810 MW of new projects. Total renewable energy capacity is 7,879 MW, with wind energy leading at 4,559 MW. The Cuyo region holds 1,095 MW of solar capacity, while the Northwest accounts for 869 MW.

In 2025, Argentina's installed solar capacity increased to 2,483 MW after adding approximately 810 MW from new photovoltaic systems, compared to 307 MW in 2024. Total renewable energy capacity, excluding large hydropower, stands at 7,879 MW, with wind energy at 4,559 MW, followed by solar, small hydropower at 501 MW, and biomass at 336 MW.
Major contributions to solar capacity came from the Cuyo region, with 1,095 MW, and the Northwest with 869 MW. New projects in Mendoza contributed at least 510 MW, including Malargüe I and phases of the El Quemado project.
