Argentina's Army Offers Quince for Chevrolet Truck Parts Amid Budget Cuts
Argentina's Army is tendering at least one tonne of quince for spare parts for a 2010 Chevrolet S10 pick-up truck due to budget constraints. Bids will be opened on May 27, emphasizing the financial challenges facing the military under President Javier Milei's administration.

Amid budget restrictions from President Javier Milei's government, Argentina's Army is seeking bids for the exchange of over one tonne of quince for spare parts necessary for a 2010 Chevrolet S10 4x4 pick-up truck. Bids are due by May 27, with the winning bidder required to deliver parts within 30 days and collect the quince from San Rafael, Mendoza Province.
The Army requires 31 components for the vehicle, including brake pads and a water pump. Previous similar operations included the auction of 350 tonnes of quince in 2021 and 520 tonnes in 2019 for cash. This tender has gained attention on social media amidst criticism of military funding priorities.
