Arianne Phosphate Completes Successful Phosphoric Acid Production Test
Arianne Phosphate successfully produced 1.5 tons of phosphoric acid over a week, marking the first production from Quebec concentrate in 130 years. This pilot test, funded by Natural Resources Canada, is a step towards developing a new local value chain.

Arianne Phosphate has completed a successful pilot test producing 1.5 tons of phosphoric acid continuously over one week. This test, conducted in partnership with Corem of Quebec, is part of subsidized research initiated in autumn 2025.
The pilot represents the first production of phosphoric acid from Quebec concentrate in 130 years. Arianne Phosphate plans to conduct further tests for purifying phosphoric acid, which is critical for lithium-ion batteries, semiconductors, and fertilizers. The company is seeking investors for its mining operations at Lac à Paul, with construction costs potentially exceeding $2.3 billion, amid renewed interest in phosphate due to market instability linked to Iran.
