Tanzania's Mining Sector Gains Momentum with Uranium and Graphite Projects
Tanzania is positioning itself as a key player in uranium and graphite mining, attracting significant investment and development. The government's commitment to pro-growth policies is expected to enhance the nation's mining sector, with uranium and graphite poised to become major economic drivers.

Tanzania's mining sector has surpassed revenue targets, generating Sh1.2 trillion for the 2025/26 financial year, with uranium and graphite projects attracting investment. The Madaba uranium project by QX Resources is advancing in the Luwegu Basin, while the Nyota deposit within the Mkuju River project is set to become the country's first uranium mine, containing significant uranium ore resources.
Concurrently, Invert Graphite's Kumba deposit has reported a maiden resource of 32.2Mt at 8% total graphitic carbon, enhancing growth prospects. The Tanzanian government emphasizes domestic mineral processing and regulatory stability, aiming for a well-regulated mining sector that promotes long-term investment and shared benefits.
