Arizona State University Establishes Advanced Capabilities for National Security Institute

Arizona State University (ASU) is elevating its Global Security Initiative to the Advanced Capabilities for National Security Institute (ACNSI) to bolster national security research. ASU has experienced a threefold increase in defense-related research expenditures since 2018 and anticipates reaching nearly $100 million in Department of War funding this fiscal year.

The institute will address contemporary security needs and future challenges through interdisciplinary research in areas such as cybersecurity, AI, biosecurity, and space. It has established partnerships with the U.S.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force, demonstrating its capacity to transition technology into operational environments effectively. The ACNSI aims to enhance ASU's research capabilities and respond to national security challenges.
