Armenia Allocates 150 Billion Drams for Military Industry Development

Armenia will allocate 150 billion drams for military industry development under the 2026-28 program, as announced by Defense Minister Suren Papikyan. In 2022, contracts worth 5.5 billion drams were signed with local companies, increasing to 170 billion drams, with most products already delivered.

Armenia's defense spending rose from 245 billion drams in 2018 to 664 billion drams ($1.741 billion) in 2025, marking an increase of $1.1 billion. The minister emphasized the importance of local production and diversification in military equipment procurement.
