Armenia Increases Defense R&D Funding by 50% to Over 2.1 Billion AMD

DEFENSE

In 2025, Armenia allocated over 2.1 billion AMD for research and development in the defense industry, reflecting a 50% increase from 2024. This rise is part of reforms initiated by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry aimed at making the funding program more appealing to defense companies.

The new framework for R&D projects introduced technology readiness levels, enabling companies to develop complex projects incrementally with initial small funding. This approach supports startup companies in maturing their projects and becoming established entities within the industry.
