Army & Air Force Exchange Service Invests $92 Million in Quality-of-Life Projects at Remote Installations

DEFENSE

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is investing nearly $92 million in Quality-of-Life projects at remote and isolated military installations from mid-May 2024 through 2026. This initiative builds on the Army's pilot program launched in 2020 at Forts Irwin, Polk, and Wainwright, which has already seen significant improvements, including upgrades to PXs, Expresses, and dining facilities.

Fort Hood has been added as a fourth installation for similar enhancements. In 2024, the Exchange generated $492 million in dividend-eligible earnings, with $295 million allocated for Quality-of-Life programs. Over the last decade, the Exchange has provided $15 billion in value to the military community, ensuring that facilities meet brand standards with updated signage, flooring, and dining options to support service members and their families.
