Army Deployment in Dhaka and Surrounding Areas Amid Political Tensions
The government has deployed army personnel in Dhaka and five other areas due to concerns over unrest linked to the Awami League. This measure, effective until June 30, follows police warnings of potential clashes and unlawful activities by party activists.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered army deployment in Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, and districts including Narayanganj, Gopalganj, and Faridpur until June 30. This action is a response to a nationwide alert about possible unrest coinciding with the Awami League's founding anniversary on June 23.
Police issued instructions to maintain heightened vigilance against potential confrontations involving Awami League activists and rival political groups, specifically the National Citizen Party and Students Against Discrimination. The directive highlights risks of hostility toward law enforcement from the banned party's members if confronted.
