ARX Robotics Initiates GEREON Production in the UK with £45 Million Investment
ARX Robotics has commenced UK manufacturing of GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles, backed by a £45 million investment aimed at producing up to 1,800 units annually. This move aligns with the British Army's modernization efforts and reflects a growing trend towards integrating autonomous systems in military operations.

ARX Robotics has started production of GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles in the UK, following a contract with the British Army for Recce-Strike experimentation. The £45 million investment will enable the manufacturing of up to 1,800 vehicles per year and create at least 90 skilled jobs.
The initial order includes ISR payloads to enhance battlefield awareness. The contract builds on months of testing conducted in diverse environments, including Kenya and the Baltic region, where GEREON systems demonstrated effectiveness in reducing soldier exposure to threats.
The UK government aims to link defense procurement with industrial strategy, and this initiative reflects a broader push to enhance defense technology manufacturing domestically. The integration of GEREON vehicles into military operations may influence procurement strategies across NATO, especially as UGV usage increases in combat scenarios.
