ASELSAN's KORKUT 140/35 air defense system successfully engaged a drone during dynamic field tests, showcasing its mobility and operational capabilities. The system, mounted on an 8x8 wheeled armored vehicle, maintains its close-in protection role for moving units while enhancing mobility across various terrains.

It features a twin 35 mm gun with a firing rate of 1,100 rounds per minute and an engagement range of up to 4 km. Utilizing 35 mm airburst ammunition, the system effectively targets small drones, particularly FPV threats, which present tracking challenges.

KORKUT operates as a coordinated multi-vehicle system, typically comprising three weapon vehicles and a command-and-control vehicle equipped with 3D radar for target detection. Recent developments include additional radar and electronic attack capabilities for enhanced counter-UAS performance. This evolution positions KORKUT as a practical solution against low-altitude drone threats while preserving interceptor inventories.
