ASI Launches €2 Million 'Space and Blue' Initiative to Integrate Space and Maritime Sectors
The Italian Space Agency (ASI) has initiated the 'Space and Blue' multi-thematic call for projects with a budget exceeding €2 million. This initiative aims to foster strategic collaborations between the space and maritime sectors, enhancing technological innovation and competitiveness.

The 'Space and Blue' initiative, launched by ASI, has a budget of over €2 million to support research and development projects that last up to 24 months. The call encourages collaboration between the space and maritime industries and was announced at an event in Rome, which included representatives from ASI, Confitarma, and the Italian Institute of Navigation.
Key technological areas supported include sensing and monitoring, robotics and artificial intelligence, renewable energy, quantum communication, and critical infrastructure protection. The deadline for project submissions is May 23. This initiative is expected to promote synergies between the two sectors, potentially leading to significant advancements in technological integration and innovation.
