Assault and Counter-Terror Operations in Sri Lanka and Jammu and Kashmir
A mason was found dead in Sri Lanka's Vadamaradchy with severe injuries, while a major counter-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the killing of a top militant, Zakir Ganie. These developments highlight ongoing security challenges in both regions, impacting local communities and counter-terrorism efforts.

A mason, Rasiah Muraleeswaran, 42, was found murdered in the Nilavan Kudiyiruppu Housing scheme in Vadamaradchy, Sri Lanka, where he worked on housing for tsunami victims. Another mason, Rajani, 26, has gone missing.
This project is under constant surveillance by the Sri Lanka Army. Concurrently, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district killed a militant identified as Zakir Ganie during a five-day operation.
This operation, initiated after intelligence reports, also involved a separate body recovery, with ongoing identification and verification processes. The situation remains fluid as operations continue to ensure the area is secure.
