DEFENSESPACE ECONOMY

AST SpaceMobile is set to launch its seventh satellite, BlueBird FM2, aboard a Blue Origin New Glenn rocket. The company is currently producing around six satellites per month at its Midland, Texas facilities and aims to have between 45 and 60 satellites in orbit by the end of 2025 to initiate beta services in select markets.

Following a successful launch of its FM1 satellite on December 23, 2025, AST is anticipating four launches this quarter and additional launches throughout the year to meet its target. In addition, AST has secured a prime contract position on the US Missile Defense Agency's Shield program, enhancing its potential to engage in future task orders related to critical national security systems.
