AST SpaceMobile Aims for 45-60 Satellites by Year-End, Prepares for Upcoming Launches
AST SpaceMobile plans to launch its seventh satellite, BlueBird FM2, using a Blue Origin New Glenn rocket, as it ramps up production to six satellites per month in Texas. The company aims to have 45 to 60 satellites in orbit by the end of 2025 to begin beta services in select markets, with four launches scheduled for this quarter. Additionally, AST has secured a prime contract with the US Missile Defense Agency's Shield program, potentially expanding its involvement in national security projects.

AST SpaceMobile is set to launch its seventh satellite, BlueBird FM2, aboard a Blue Origin New Glenn rocket. The company is currently producing around six satellites per month at its Midland, Texas facilities and aims to have between 45 and 60 satellites in orbit by the end of 2025 to initiate beta services in select markets.
Following a successful launch of its FM1 satellite on December 23, 2025, AST is anticipating four launches this quarter and additional launches throughout the year to meet its target. In addition, AST has secured a prime contract position on the US Missile Defense Agency's Shield program, enhancing its potential to engage in future task orders related to critical national security systems.
