ASTC to Launch CNG Bus Initiative in Guwahati by Next Year
ASTC plans to operate 100 CNG buses in Guwahati as part of the Smart City initiative. The project includes the establishment of infrastructure for refueling.

The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) is set to introduce 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses in Guwahati, starting next year. Tata Motors has dispatched 68 of these buses, with an additional 32 expected shortly.
Two CNG filling stations are operational in Guwahati, located at ISBT and Ulubari, supporting the new fleet. This project is part of the broader Guwahati Smart City initiative, which aims to enhance urban transport and reduce emissions. The successful implementation of this project could set a precedent for similar initiatives in other cities in India.
