Attapeu Province Achieves Significant Poverty Reduction by 2025
Attapeu Province has successfully lifted 30,838 families out of poverty from 2021 to 2025, achieving an 88.32% improvement above the poverty line. The initiative is part of a broader strategy for rural development and governance enhancement for the period 2026-2030.

Between 2021 and 2025, Attapeu Province raised 30,838 families above the poverty line, with three districts officially declared poverty-free. The 'Three Builds' initiative contributed to the recognition of Samakkhixay, Xaysettha, and Sanxay districts as comprehensive strong units and the designation of 70 villages as development units.
For the upcoming period of 2026-2030, priorities will focus on grassroots political strengthening, rural development, and further poverty reduction efforts. The province aims to reduce the number of poor households to under 390 and strengthen national defense while enhancing cooperation with neighboring Vietnam. Additionally, Attapeu plans to develop further strategic units and improve governance frameworks.
