Aule Space Secures $2 Million to Develop Autonomous Satellite Servicing Technology

DEFENSE

Aule Space, a spacetech startup, has raised $2 million in a funding round led by pi Ventures, with participation from angel investors including Eash Sundaram and Arvind Lakshmikumar. The funds will be used to expand the engineering team, establish ground infrastructure for docking trials, and develop Aule's first demonstration satellites, planned for launch next year.

Founded in 2024, Aule Space aims to address fuel depletion in geostationary satellites by creating autonomous 'jetpacks' that can dock with and service existing satellites, potentially extending their operational life by up to six years. The technology focuses on rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD) and has applications in both commercial and defense sectors. Aule Space has received support from India's space ecosystem, including seed funding from IN-SPACe, and plans to raise an additional $5 million for future missions.
