AxionOrbital Space Develops SOTA Models for 24/7 Earth Observation
AxionOrbital Space, founded by Dhenenjay Yadav and Atharva Peshkar in June 2025, aims to enhance 24/7 Earth observation by developing state-of-the-art (SOTA) models. Supported by Y Combinator (W26), the company addresses the limitations of optical satellites that struggle with clouds and darkness and the complexity of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images.
Their SOTA models convert SAR data into human-readable optical images within 0.06 seconds, prioritizing operational accuracy over aesthetics. The startup has established its infrastructure internally in four months and recently acquired its first paying client in California, targeting sectors like defense, high-frequency trading, and mining for further contracts. AxionOrbital Space claims no direct competitors in SAR-optical translation and aims to provide a universal intelligence layer for the Earth observation industry by processing satellite data to ensure visibility regardless of weather or time.
