Azerbaijan and Czech Republic Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in Transport and Defense
Azerbaijan is investing heavily in the East-West transport corridor to enhance supply chain resilience. This initiative, alongside ongoing negotiations for joint military production with the Czech Republic, highlights a significant move towards strengthening bilateral trade and energy cooperation.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev announced substantial investments in the East-West transport corridor, crucial for overcoming recent logistics and supply chain disruptions. The collaborative efforts with Czechia were underscored during a business forum attended by Prime Minister Andrej Babis, aiming to bolster bilateral trade, which has surpassed $800 million, primarily driven by Azerbaijani oil exports.
Both nations are exploring joint military production and energy sector cooperation, with Azerbaijan being a key energy exporter to the EU. The stability of Azerbaijan's economy and its strategic significance as a transit route position it as a favorable investment destination. Enhanced partnerships in infrastructure, renewable energy, and tourism are also on the agenda.
