On January 21, 2026, Azerbaijan and the U.S. held their second online meeting of the Strategic Working Group to draft a Strategic Partnership Charter. Co-chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, the discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in energy, trade, regional connectivity, economic investment, defense, security, counterterrorism, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, aiming to finalize the charter's text.
